Pretty sure that’s the Myles Garrett Cleveland Elite Signature T-Shirt But I will love this issue. It’s hard to explain, but do you know anyone who is always depressed? Who no matter what seems to be in the dumps and has bad things going on in their life, even if it seems to be of their own doing? They are to you what you are to your trainer. It’s not that their isn’t pain and sadness in everyone’s life, it’s how you live with it. Happiness and joy aren’t any less raw or real emotions, but it’s easy to feel that way when your life is a struggle. It’s probably one of the hardest but most rewarding transitions to go from the mindset where happy laughing people get on your nerves, seem fake, and are generally obnoxious, to the mindset where you can be happy or at least neutral about the happiness of others, even if you aren’t in a great place yourself.

As for Peace is Every Step, I haven’t read that one, but it’s important to remember that Thich Nhat Hanh originally wrote his books in Vietnamese. There is going to be something lost in translation. I don’t think a flowery book (which even has a flower on the Myles Garrett Cleveland Elite Signature T-Shirt But I will love this cover) is going to be right for you at this stage. I get the impression that you might benefit more from something like Way of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman or something similar that’s about embarking on a spiritual journey. From your writing, you seem fed up with your ordinary reality and state of being, very much someone ready to go down the rabbit hole. I wish you luck. I had a Mennonite boyfriend once. They’re famous pacifists. I just wanted him to get angry at me, just once. He felt remote and shut down emotionally. Too damn nice.
