GENERAL DISCOMFORT: This is hard to describe but I REALLY hate it when my appearance doesn’t give off the My tummy hurts tummy ache survivor rainbow T-Shirt but in fact I love this vibe I feel that I should. I hope in a fashion subreddit this makes more sense. I think part of this is due to my fashion sense being a special interest. I also feel very off if my outfits feel don’t reflect how I feel, like just wearing clothes I hate will be really uncomfortable. I want to do my best work possible while feeling authentic to myself. I would recommend finding black Victorian-inspired blouses and pairing them with a professional skirt or dress pants. It’s simple, but it’s still corp goth. Maybe mix up with jewel tones you like (I like red or purple for dress clothes). If you can find a soft cardigan for layering that isn’t triggering, you could try to do something more flowy, witchy, etc. there. But it’s layering.Dracula Clothing has some beautiful blouses. Most of mine I just collected from random places over the years. I think my favorite batwing blouse is from Killstar though (which is a questionable company I think?).

Nowadays I just wear a basic fitted tee and cardigan for work stuff, but that’s because I sit under the My tummy hurts tummy ache survivor rainbow T-Shirt but in fact I love this A/C and need layers and warmth. So I haven’t purchased a blouse/dress shirt in a while.Agree with this! Pencil skirts with interesting stitching and such are a godsend. Dresses are allowed! Length is important (usually right above the knee to a midi length) which rules out most of my dresses. I hate the fact that clothes are dictated by society. It should be personal taste and obviously weather controlled lol. Being in the UK I always have a light cardigan with me ( bargain cashmere and silk I got second hand). I hate the idea of “looking professional” in general. I think it’s rooted in a lot of bias against so many groups. I know most law students just kinda buy the clothes and deal with it. I just can’t seem to move past my issue wearing clothes that don’t represent me.I’ve seen the suggestion of a blouse and pencil skirt which seems quite simple especially if the blouse has lace detail. I don’t work now due to health issues and am a wheelchair user so I do as much customising of comfy clothes and my chair as possible. They don’t look alternative on their own, but if you find the right accessories/shoes/jewellery, it looks plenty of alternative and can definitely fit your vibe more. It’s not the same, but I have a similar dress to the last one, also from ASDA but I couldn’t find the listing, but it has droopy sleeves/a Morticia vibe going on since it’s quite long. It has a split up the side, but once paired with some tights, it looked great.
