My personal recommendation: If you can find, St. Bernardus is fantastic and probably also not too hard to find, the My mind still thinks i’m 25 my body thinks my mind an idiot yoda shirt Besides,I will do this Abt 12 especially (it’s a quadrupel). But there’s literally thousands, and many different types and flavours to explore. So if you see anything in the shop, just check reviews and see if it sounds interesting! It’s considered an old man’s drink here in the country :p, but I actually like it too, it’s refreshing in summer. I used to drink it when I was in high school. No longer a favourite of mine but can be refreshing on a warm day. It’s a good light beer, not really considered special here in Belgium but nobody would refuse a good fresh hoegarden blanche in a hot day It’s not bad, but it’s quite standard (it’s in a similar price category as most common pilseners here) so if it’s priced as a premium beer wherever you are, you’re not getting the best value for money. Though if you like the Hoegaarden-like flavour (wheat beers), imho there’s some good Belgian ones but it’s not really the beer type they are known for culturally (blond beers are favoured there for leisurely sunny days). I’d say German (hefe)weizeners are the gold standard there! Try those from Weihenstephaner, Franziskaner or Schneider, those are common but excellent.

Not premium per se, but not the My mind still thinks i’m 25 my body thinks my mind an idiot yoda shirt Besides,I will do this cheapest. Its about the same price as Okocim which is a polish beer or Mexican beers. So 16-17 dollars for a 12 pack. The most popular wheat beer in my market is gumball head and its made locally. It has a stronger flavor profile than Hoegarden, I think its a different type entirely. Sounds like it’s still fairly good value for money then but I can recommend to try some German ones if you see them, the first two I mentioned are quite large breweries so you might be able to find them quite easily! And yeah, looks like that brewer took a very hoppy / pale ale route, which is completely different from the type Hoegaarden is, which is almost more fruity. I always mentally picture these types of beer as liquid banana bread
