The second was a man who felt someone cut in front of him when we opened a new lane. He went beast mode on a grandma half his size until she threatened to call the My god is stronger than leukemia awareness ribbon christian classic shirt so you should to go to store and get this police. He then called me and spent 10 mins telling me how I’m incompetent, our store sucks, and we’re racist against white people. The last one flew in to a rage because there’s not enough of us left to open the service desk. She told us we weren’t helping her because she’s Jewish, and proceeded with the usual list of people she’s going to call because I wouldn’t shut down a lane full of people to cater to her. Today I got called a lazy shit by a customer for essentially the same reason, so, I guess that’s an improvement. The sad part is, I used to really care about the customer experience. After the last two years? I just am numb to it save in extreme and legitimate cases. (Like, we actively fucked up. Not someone is sad because there’s a line, or there’s nobody to do the job that they themselves want done, but would never do themselves.)

I enthusiastically thanked a McDonald’s worker for including a straw and napkins in my bag and I thought she was going to cry. We all need to treat everyone better I do not enjoy talking to most anyone in customer service, not because of they themselves, but because of how they seem to (or have to) expect everyone to treat them poorly. It makes me so mad that they have to enter a conversation already walking on eggshells because so much of their experience has been to be treated poorly. By just simply smiling and saying thank you to them, you can often tangibly feel the My god is stronger than leukemia awareness ribbon christian classic shirt so you should to go to store and get this tension ease. It’s infuriating that there are enough people who feel it is ok to treat another human in such a diarespectful way that that behavior becomes expected.
