It was the My Goal Is To Deny Yours – Goaltender Ice Hockey Goalie T-shirt and I love this first time I’d seen how actors transform when they are asked to be other people. Rehearsals started a few days after Duke and Jerry showed up, and inside the theater both men became entirely different people. It was the first time I’d seen how actors transform when they are asked to be other people, when their job is locating and mining the compassion, the curiosity, the deep humanity that allows this change to occur. Suddenly both men were deeply still, inwardly-turned. Jerry’s attention wasn’t on me—it wasn’t even on himself—it was on the powerful thing occurring in that room.

My Goal Is To Deny Yours – Goaltender Ice Hockey Goalie T-shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

During that week, my job was to print new pages after the My Goal Is To Deny Yours – Goaltender Ice Hockey Goalie T-shirt and I love this playwright rewrote a scene, make coffee in the green room, and keep the mini-fridge stocked with both 2% and half-and-half. And then one morning the director asked if I was free to run lines with the actors. So after that, whenever we ended rehearsal for the day, I sat in the studio with Duke and Jerry. They said their lines to each other, and I corrected them, fed them words, reminded them of notes they’d jotted in their own margins. I watched the language seep into them, I watched them become the language. It felt like all three of us were on the same team, scaling the mountain of this impossibly beautiful play. I thought This is what I want to do—and the “this” was both what the play did to me, and also how it sent that feeling through all the bodies around me, like a fine net of electricity, all of us leaning forward in our seats.
