Animals and insects do not keep me away from Australia. It’s the long flight that I don’t want to make. Also, I don’t know anyone there. What would I do there after I dropped in unannounced? I can annoy people at home. No one wants me going overseas to annoy their friends. I live in California, and we have many rattlesnakes and bears. They are not threats if you keep to yourself. Bears, in fact, are rather easily scared away. Actress Helen Mirren has a house in Lake Tahoe, and she scared away a bear recently. Not difficult to do.
