They made the change to protect the HBO brand because people were becoming confused about whether HBO Max originals were actual HBO content. Correct… the handful of shows that Warner produced specifically for HBO Max (Raised by Wolves, Gossip Girl, Sex Life of College Girls, Tokyo Vice, Velma, and a bunch of others) were “HBO Max Originals,” not content created by HBO. Nah, the “HBO Max Originals” are Warner programming but aren’t created by or broadcast on HBO. This is why there’s been ongoing concern about the HBO brand being damaged by audiences believing HBO made stuff like Velma and Gossip Girl.

Well I just assumed those shows were HBO’s creation. I guess they were right to separate their name from the My big piece of my heart lives in heaven Mom butterfly shirt and I will buy this streaming side of things. Yup it makes perfect sense. And as soon as you open the Max app they make it clear where to find the HBO content. Discovery was a mistake. They are really cheapening HBO. I was listenig to sirius radio and their ad was promoting got, succession, and some lame reality show(property brothers?) on max. One is not like the other. Someone mentioned earlier they removed westworld, the fuck is even the point of max if they don’t have hbo shows? I actually thought that HBO Max was a decent name, having both HBO and Max in the name was a good compromise. Now, well I don’t give a shit about Max programming so I’m just gonna refer to it as HBO. Actually WB and HBO have been combined for a while. Discovery is the one who decided to drop HBO and call it Max for some fucking reason, I guess to “hide” the fact that they’re filling it with garbage reality TV and taking off a lot of the HBO and WB IP movies and shows… Basically they hired some expensive outsider consultants high and drunk as fuck to come up with an idea and it was “…uhhh, Max?” I’ve seen so many ads for the army in spanish here on reddit lately. This kinda explains that. (I don’t speak spanish)
