Okay so first question, why when a mass shooting occurs everyone acts all boohoo and sad for a week, and then we all say “Oh well, move one, maybe one day gun laws will change.”, and forget about it. We just keep on with our lives, waiting for the Must’ve been the wind shirt But I will love this next tragedy to strike as if it’s a normal Sunday afternoon. See that’s what drives me crazy. Nothing changes. We all just have accepted this state of our country as normal and it’s not ok in my opinion. In my head, if there is a problem that is costing innocent lives, why are we not trying to fix it emmediatly? I have guesses as to why of course. Rich old men (the majority of politicians) know trying to fix our gun problem would cost a lot of hard work, public unrest and money, and they don’t want to deal with the headache of all that so they just shove it under the rug for someone else to eventually deal with. Well that’s just bs. Helping run a country should not be about you and should not be easy. It should be about taking care of it’s people no matter what. This naturally will involve a lot of hard work and sacrifice. That’s just part of the job description. Taking care of a country automatically requires a level of selflessness. You are looking out for others. Now days it’s just about looking out for yourself to make sure you win the next election. It makes me sick.

In my opinion, “no guns!” is never going to happen in America. That’s unrealistic, and not the Must’ve been the wind shirt But I will love this true solution to ending rising gun violence. If we want to see change, we need to make it harder for people to own a gun. That way not any old joe can buy one. Mental health/soundness screenings should be required. Extensive training beforehand should be required. Regular yearly gun safety check-ins should be required. Another thing that would end gun purchases/violence is better trust in our government, but that’s also never going to happen. It all seems like a nobrainer solution to me, but I will admit I am not educated in American politics or active gun policies. I am more just an angry clueless civilian, tired of seeing mass shootings on the news.
