There already is student loan forgiveness!!! Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF) exists for those employed by a U.S. federal, state, local, or tribal government or not-for-profit organization. I feel a good temporary compromise till we fix root of problem would be to make all student loans interest free for 10-15 years. Most of the Music is my drug and keith urban is my dealer shirt in contrast I will get this time people end up in cripling debt is from the crazy interest. I do not have children and I will never have them. The monthly Child Tax Credit payments are not something I benefitted from, but I believe that it did good things for families struggling to make ends meet. I would love to see them bring it back, again as a person who will never benefit from that program. I feel like they need to work on making the loan system less predatory, educate students about their alternatives to Universities and lock interest rates. I would absolutely love to see assistance without means testing for students loans, but I think it has to come with other changes/regulations or else the next generation will struggle again. Some relief now would be good for those who had their lives upended due to COVID.

Those who would complain or ask for people to struggle because they had to struggle need to take a hard look at themselves. Also, think about the Music is my drug and keith urban is my dealer shirt in contrast I will get this ways in which you’ve benefitted from programs throughout your life and how others contributed to that. And in all seriousness – question the D.O.D. about their spending! Want to be outraged? Look into the last time the Pentagon was audited. Tax payer money goes into so many crazy things, student loan relief should not be a huge concern. This is a “culture war” issue and we are too busy fighting with ourselves instead of fighting against a system that constantly takes advantage of everyone. I agree with the statement, but we’re in a competitive market for jobs and goods and having labored through my 20s trying just to get by puts me at a competitive disadvantage in these markets. Im now in my 30s and just now in a position to buy a house in a hyper competitive market and I’m competing mostly with older people and investors who haven’t been burdened by the same kind of debt I was. Now, I will also be competing with younger people who also don’t have the same kind of debt. So, agreed it’s a better thing for the long term future but for the immediate social order it just says to me that I’m getting screwed again.
