Well, fuck. Just last night I was reading a novel about climate change. The first chapter depicted a “wet bulb event” – a heatwave that is mathematically not survivable without a cooling source – in northern India. It’s speculative fiction that is supposed to be near-future, but I didn’t think they meant tomorrow. Been freezing our butts off for two days with temps in the MLB New York Mets Jeff Mcneil The Hit Machine signature shirt moreover I love this low-mid 20s. Right now 22° at 8am. Playing on my phone, wrapped in a blanket, trying to stay warm. Totally weird. I have erythromelalgia. My body feels heat a lot hotter (does that make sense?) when I’m flaring. IT IS hell. Heat reaches this point where your breathing slows. Your lungs feel like they’re drowning. Gravity doubles. You feel like living requires too much effort. I’m surprised they can function. And extremely sympathetic for anyone who has EM and lives in India or Pakistan right now.

When I was in Qatar for a bit it hit around 125ish and the MLB New York Mets Jeff Mcneil The Hit Machine signature shirt moreover I love this real feel was 135 Fahrenheit. I got light headed at one point The book ‘The ministry for the future’ by Kim Stanley Robinson starts with this exact scenario. Death at an unprecedented scale As someone who is from the eastern part of India, there has been some rain and thunderstorms past 3 days. So the weather is quite good right now. I wonder if this will lead to greater flooding during the next monsoon season. More heat>>More evaporation>>More moisture in the atmosphere>>More rain. Oddly enough, summer temps here in saudi arabia this year have been the lowest in a long time. Not even seen a day above 38C this year, whereas we’d usually be well into 45C+ territory in May. I wonder if they could suspend large opaque or semi-transparent screens with hot air balloons or other craft, which could limit the sunlight for a given area? I was in Saudi Arabia and one day it reached 52 Celsius or 125 Fahrenheit. Couldn’t walk around for more than a minute without an umbrella. It feels like the sun is right above you Not everywhere in India though. I live in North Eastern India and it rains in the day and drops to 18°C at night
