Mine and my sisters names took a little longer than usual to get « official » because they were uncommon but most people don’t encounter an issue to my knowledge e Good. Your child’s name is not the time to get creative. Give them a name they can live with. Don’t make them suffer because of your mistakes. I wish we had more restrictions in Canada. They named their daughter a ridiculously over the top Japanese name ‘to honor her culture’. To make it worse they both affect this weird accent when they say her name. This poor girl. She’s probably the whitest looking kid I’ve ever seen and she’s gotta go through the rest of her life with this name. She’s going to be in middle school one day and have to introduce herself with her ridiculous name. If the parents were American, they would’ve sued someone because naming someone is their “right” and their “freedom” is being taken away. Back in the day, America had a system where you told a nurse what name you wanted to name a kid and that nurse would then tell you, “No, that is a nickname. What official name would you like for your child?”
