Because they’re trying to make the Minnie Miñoso The Cuban Comet Shirt and I will buy this site/app more appealing to get new people to appease advertisers after the whole API bullshit they pulled and in doing so, they keep breaking things. The only thing that bugs me with the whole change is my notifications never load properly. As a karma whore that comments on everything, it’s very annoying. I still don’t understand the whole API thing and advertisements everyone’s talking about. Frequency of ads hasn’t increased for me (you can also just scroll past¿). I just hate the promotional users they’re putting in the comments. Basically they made it so it was practically impossible to have a 3rd party app to interface with Reddit content. The native app is kinda not great, and many active users/ moderators used 3rd party apps. Also any 3rd party sites using the interface to show statistics and more got essential blocked.

They’ve also recently changed for content updates on the Minnie Miñoso The Cuban Comet Shirt and I will buy this app (at least feels like it to me), kinda like YT with the “hit subscribe AND the notification bell to not miss an update”, like they’re trying to make the home page content more to their liking and less to your actual subreddit subscriptions unless you actively enter those… I miss the old Reddit experience, might even leave soon for other options if I stumble upon them I truly haven’t noticed a change at all with my feed. Hell, it’s honestly gotten better since the whole debacle. The recommended subs on my feed has led me to some great subs like wunkus & weeviltime. I don’t mess with the popular, news, or any of the other tabs because it’s a cesspool of politics that I don’t fucc with While it was Reddit’s prerogative to do as they want with their ToS, and while it may seem insignificant to a large part of the user base, it was basically a power move to try to force those who had devoted time and resources to enhance the experience for many users, to either pay up exorbitant amounts, or GTFO. It was basically a dick ass move towards a large section of a devoted user base of Reddit, to try to squeeze more profits out, instead of trying to work with that user base to enhance the experience together and thrive the community.
