It’s in the blue color sector, there is a semblance of balancing going on between office roles and labor roles. I was literally offered 82k annually to go work as a deli manager for a higher end grocery store last month, which sparked my interest to start an analysis on it. Mid to senior level labor roles are in high demand and wages are increasing significantly. Yeah, there are plenty of part time jobs. There are plenty of temporary/contract jobs. There are plenty of jobs with no benefits. There are plenty of jobs with extremely low pay. There are plenty of jobs that have you using your own tools/vehicles/resources for low pay and part time hours. There are plenty of dangerous or skilled jobs that are grossly, disgustingly underpaid with no benefits. I’m looking at you police officer job for 19 bucks an hour or trash truck driver for 35k a year. I’m looking at you CNA for 26k a year. I’m looking at you transit driver for 17 bucks an hour or OTR trucker for 500 bucks a week. same friend same. I have 12 years experience in Office/ school administration and I cant event get an assistant gig. What gives?

Yep, you aren’t alone. Been looking for a few months after I got laid off. Everything in my area is either looking for insane experience, offering low pay, or both. It’s straight up better for me to stay on unemployment and not have to pay for gas while commuting.
