$130k in the Minions Minyinz Pittsburgh Pirates shirt so you should to go to store and get this Midwest will comfortably get you a beautiful house, decent vehicles, food on the table, an annual vacation, and room to save for retirement My wife is a teacher in the PNW. She loves her job, and compared to 95% of other states, she actually gets treated decently well with comparatively good salary, union protections, good benefits, and the state just passed a law to provide annual COLAs tied to the rate of inflation. We’ve looked at moving to other states, and actually used to live in Kansas for a bit, and when you run the numbers our purchasing power would actually decrease. Also, we can spend every weekend in the mountains or on the ocean if we want. There’s a ton of public land and water. It’s pretty sweet. Probably the only state we’d truthfully consider in the Midwest is Minnesota. They’ve got similar attitudes towards education and public service and a similar outdoor culture.

Ha, I’ve worked as a teacher in Minnesota and one of the Minions Minyinz Pittsburgh Pirates shirt so you should to go to store and get this only other states I ever seriously considered moving to as a teacher was Washington. Cheers! I make over $130k as an electrician in Oregon. I’ve looked into several Midwestern states, and it looks like I would be making $20-30/hr at best. You make that kind of money working at a resturaunt or warehouse here. Even with the higher cost of living, I make proportionately more here. So does virtually everybody else with a full-time job. I could easily save up and then retire to a cheaper Midwestern state when I’m done working. Also, no offense, but I’ve visited several Midwestern states. The PNW is just a much more enjoyable place to live IMO. Because jobs pay more on the west coast, tech will pay literally double if you work in san fransisco or the bay and its much the same for other industries. Any minimum wage job starts at like 16.50$
