At my current job that pays 2x yhe amount it’s literally just “eh show up whenever, do 8 hr, get your stuff done” It’s easy to identify and identify your triggers and compulsions, it’s just really about if you’re in a position where you can get people to work around them or be forced into “everyone else can do it this way why cant you?” Most disabilities and struggles are pretty easy to work around, even with incredibly extreme ones, but asking for minor aid can be seen as just too much and offebsive to abled people. Yes yes yes. I’ve just finished a bout of exposure therapy for my OCD. Hell when I was out of work for 2 months a few years ago, before covid, gaming and applying for jobs was basically what I did from 7 until 5 when wife came home I third this. I did that from 2021-2023 and…God it sucked. Most days I sleep 10-12 hours because it’s easier than being awake. At this point it may be worth getting disability support and exploring something he could do while gaming, like streaming on twitch/youtube, or recording gameplays and game reviews. This would allow him to possibly have a bit more income (albeit probably not enough to earn a living), while socializing with more people, something that he probably needs and may help him get out of this hole.How about doing something like a post letter carrier. I mean there’s some interaction required but mainly its a solitary and I’d say healthy form of work. Or reading Gas meters.

Otherwise, it feels like I’m an extrovert trapped within an introverts body and rules of engagement. I love talking and chatting even over dumb stuff! But the anxiety is crushing.
