Hell, even when there is only a single shooter, there’s a longstanding pattern of people reporting multiple shooters in the Mickey Mouse Love Signlanguage Shirt and I will buy this confusion. Every house visit, car stop or escalating scene, may involve someone with a gun. There is no time to tell if that person plans to use it or not. A large number of 2a supporters do not support the police because the police are the ones who enforce anti-gun policies In my experience of having very rural, gun loving conservatives in my extended family, sheriff’s are typically good, because they’re local and elected, city cops are victims of socialist local government controlling them, but ultimately less trustworthy than the local SD, and all feds are bad, except maybe border patrol and ICE.

And don’t forget bullets don’t conveniently stop once they pass the Mickey Mouse Love Signlanguage Shirt and I will buy this bad guy, they can pass through windows, walls, and other people. A gun battle is nothing like it is in TV and movies where the bullets only hit bad guys (and not just in the shoulder). Plus there’s a good chance the ‘good guy’ gets confused with the ‘bad guy’ by the police and gets added to the body count. You can get a trained policeman that us already in place and ready for action. And likely you still can’t stop the guy from taking a couple shots before he is stopped. The argument is never about saving lives. And the good guy with the gun will be running for his life too. This is not the movies where heros just miraculous avoid gun shots all around them.
