Clearly this is rightwingnuts attacking “fake news”. Regardless, I partially agree with this policy change. If this were “Fox 10” I wouldn’t be in support of the Mickey balloons shirt it is in the first place but broadcast advertising Fox News to middle school children. It doesn’t matter if CNN 10 is appropriate and unbiased, there’s a brand association. I don’t know what was wrong with the previous news channel they were using, Channel 1, or why they can’t find a different outlet that’s not politically polarizing. Being from NJ and then going to college in PA I was very surprised how many people either A. Went to private Catholic schools, or B. When to a charter school. It was not surprising how many of them didn’t know shit about world war 2 or the Holocaust in the mandatory world history class we all had to take. There was a guy in my class that I knew from riding in on the train from nj. I remember specifically that there was a girl giving a presentation about Hitler but like not talking about him like he was an enemy of the good guys. Like listing of “Mr. Adolf Hitler’s achievements” I scanned the room to see if I was the only one that thought what I was hearing was fucked up and the train guy made the most unforgettable “are you hearing this shit?” Face at me. Then I realized even the teacher realize that it totally went of the rails and had her like wrap it up. The rest of the class was just sitting and listening like it was completely normal.

DEFINE what is and isn’t patriotic first and then we’ll talk. Stop forcing agendas on our youth and let them form their own damn opinions. I just wanna take the Mickey balloons shirt it is in the first place but time to say that any time I watch a clip or segment from Fox News, the anchors always seem very more-than-vaguely drunk and clearly phoning in some faux-angry voice. I agree that teachers shouldn’t be forced to show programming from a single news channel, no matter how “unbiased” it might be. All news is biased. They could keep kids informed on current affairs by showing a rotating series of news programs. Each week dedicated to a different media source would probably be great to show kids how bias can leak into all media. But this alternative is just stupid.
