Try being a woman who is a true size 0 in America now. They don’t make clothes anymore for women of my size. I have to buy everything from overseas shops who still make clothing in my measurements Isn’t it so strange? I bought a 00 at JCrew recently…no way, absolutely not, I am not a 00. Sure, I am small, but not 00 small. A size 0-2 should not fit like a “trash bag,” as you said. I kept thinking, if I’m wearing a 00, what about the Mickey and Minnie Christmas Shirt besides I will buy this women that are smaller than me?! Can they just…not shop here? Yeah I agree, vanity sizing is crazy! I’m 5’3 and 114 lbs or so and I’ve been this same size for 20 years. I used to wear about a size 3 (varied between 2, 3, and 4 basically) and now I am a size 0 or 1. It’s wild. In Europe, I’m still a size 4. Never thought I would go down in size and be buying 00s and XS instead of 2s and Smalls as I got older, but here I am! And there are tons of ladies out there who are way smaller than me! I don’t know where they shop – JRs departments maybe? It blows me away when I got pick up my kids from elementary school just how many of the kids weigh more than I do, a 5’9” adult.

Meanwhile it blows me away watching my neighbor’s kids (one dad the Mickey and Minnie Christmas Shirt besides I will buy this is head football coach at the high school, the other dad is a retired MLB player) outside training like they’re getting ready to storm the beaches of Normandy. The 8 year old has a full on six pack and it’s hilarious. That’s kinda how it’s gone though, you see mainly fat people and them some jacked people, there really isn’t many “average” build people anymore. Outrageous amounts of sugar in everything and normalization of being completely sedentary. It’s not complicated or a mysterious why this is. One factor that isn’t ever talked about is how many more Americans are taking psychotropic pharmaceutical drugs. It’s a way higher percentage compared to anywhere else in the world, as far as I’m aware, and many of those drugs have weight gain/obesity as a side effect.
