There are still parents that do this and then they call those same kids out for being ungrateful when they decide they don’t want a relationship with someone that tossed them out the Michigan Wolverines Horror Movies Characters Bus Halloween 2023 Shirt and I will buy this moment they weren’t legally responsible for them. I had a friend that couldn’t finish his senior year with us because his dad was a PoS and kicked him out on his 18th birthday 3 months into the school year so he had to move in with his mom like 5 hours away. Least his mom gave a crap. My daughter is 24 and lives with me. Am looking to buy a multi-family building, keep one unit, give her a unit, and rent the rest out, if I’m able to I will make sure she never has to worry about having a home. Just to be clear, I don’t really care if anyone views it as “good” or “bad” parenting…I know she is 1000× better than I was and has been her whole life, so whether it’s right or wrong, it’s working. What’s depressing is working with high school kids and hearing their parents make them pay part of the rent/mortgage as well as various bills to “allow them to stay there”

American here. Most of the Michigan Wolverines Horror Movies Characters Bus Halloween 2023 Shirt and I will buy this friends in my circle were not kicked out at 18, especially if they were going to college. I even have a friend who, at 50, is still living with her mother in her childhood home. Having said that, once I graduated college and got my first full-time job (at 23), I was encouraged to either move out or pay rent. You have to understand that Americans are terribly individualistic. Our folklore is riddled with cowboys and other rugged individual types who go it alone, who need no one, who thrive in the face of adversity. It may be impractical and downright silly at times, but it’s part of our shared history. Well I for one was someone who left the nest at 18. My mom “kicked” me out, because I was not in school, not contributing to the home. My mom really couldn’t afford to feed another adult. In my very limited experience the folks staying at home into their 20’s come from well off homes and or they are doing something constructive or contributing to the home in some way.
