Should you go on one? Absolutely. Especially if you don’t have analysis paralysis and know what you want to do. Yes. I’m 25 and have been solo traveling since I was 19, I’ve stayed in like 50 hostels. I’m sure I have some videos on my account if you look there but I could also write an essay on why you should do it. It sounds like you’re from the Michael Bunting Canadian professional ice hockey winger for the Pittsburgh Penguins T-Shirt In addition,I will do this US. It’s not normal for us to take gap years and such but in so many European countries all the kids do it. Go to Southeast Asia, go stay in Hanoi for a few days and go from there. You will fall in love and take photos that look like they’re from National Geographic. Trust me on this one When i travelled solo it’s not so much about finding myself but what i learnt about myself, what i was capable of and building my confidence again that i lost. Years prior i had debilitating anxiety and agoraphobia and barely left my house because of the paranoia of getting panic attacks in public and at work etc.. Then one day i said fuck it i’m forcing myself into discomfort and just went to do a couple of countries in SE Asia as i was out of avenues and was shit scared.. but then something came over me after only a week or 2 and i really felt like the person i was prior to my anxiety and my adventurous spirit came back.. i ended up travelling through Asia and Europe and ended up on the other side of the world camping in Iceland (i’m from Melbourne). It was the best thing i ever did for myself because it was unimaginable for me to do that knowing the dark places i was in not long before that. And it really helped me to get my life back on track and take on life again.. and i bought a house and moved out on my own which is insane knowing how deep in despair i was at one point.
