Honestly drunk elephant scream edgy skincare to me and when it comes to my skincare I’d rather go for a serious brand I used to work for benefit and a lot of their training for the Miami Hurricanes Ncaa Ho Ho Ho Christmas Shirt and I will buy this brow bars as well as the requirements for the employees during promotions was ALSO incredibly infantilizing. All the trainers and representatives I used to work with had that sickly sweet baby talk voice that made me feel like they believed I was stupid or incompetent. When they came out with their Bad Girl Bang mascara I had to wear a crinkly silver apron that reminded me of baby/dog toys and a head band that had these little springs with stars attached to them, that was reminiscent of the episode of SpongeBob where Pearl takes over and makes SpongeBob wear a new uniform. I ended up quitting because during a training event I wore a black hoodie and some leggings and they wrote me up because I wasn’t dressed well enough for them. They literally called my boss at the location I worked at to tattle on me for being under dressed and said I clearly didn’t share their “vision” at Benefit. Like.. my dress code was just all black clothing, and it’s a training event, not my actual job lol.

Also one of the Miami Hurricanes Ncaa Ho Ho Ho Christmas Shirt and I will buy this benefit representatives that’s super famous on IG, I believe his name is Robert, does really bad brown in my opinion and we were expected to basically suck that man off for how amazing he was. The culture working for benefit was childish and icky as fuck, honestly I’ve always found Benefit kind of weirdly off-putting but I was never able to explain why, and I feel so vindicated now. I also got told off on multiple occasions for not “glamming up” the guests’ brows after their waxing services. We were required to try to push makeup application to the brows after waxing them because they obviously wanted us to sell product. However, I didn’t think it was healthy/sanitary for the guests OR for the makeup samples we were using to apply makeup after waxing their brows. Soft wax removes the top most layer of skin and some people experience skin lifting from the wax or bleeding from the follicles, and then we were using the same brow and concealing products on all the guests. We sprayed them with rubbing alcohol but that’s just not enough when we are potentially opening wounds in the skin. The powder isn’t likely to hold bacteria, but the brow pencils, pomades, and concealers are literally moist products and then we’re introducing the guests’ contamination to them….??!!! No fucking thank you. Also why the fuck anyone thinks it’s okay to put concealer and powder on freshly waxed skin, ignoring health practices to the makeup itself is utterly beyond me. Even if we ignored the makeup contamination, the risk for further irritation, acne, hives, and literal infection can be raised by applying makeup literally moments after being waxed. It completely went against my education and so I didn’t try to push it as hard as I should have. They didn’t care about expertly and professionally waxed brows or the guests health, they cared about product sales and nothing more.
