This alone doesn’t justify spending a load of your monthly salary to buy a phone simply because it has an excellent value. A Porche has an excellent value too im sure, but you don’t see everyone buying it. An iphone 14 Pro is like 24mil now. It will last you 4-5 years at least. This is nothing really for people with income 15-20mil/month or above. Middle class is growing very quick in Vietnam, i think the majority of iphone buyers are this group and not some random farmers who live in the countryside. Lol and I’ve used both. Frankly at the same price point, iPhone outperform in the most essential functions. There’s less hassle about getting set up. I have an iPad Pro, that’s where the superiority is obvious and objective. I’d never choose an Android tablet over it, but I’m super unlikely to choose an iPhone over an Android phone either, because the situation is almost the opposite there. You are looking at this from an American or Western viewpoint/lifestyle instead as a local. We can make the same arguments for cars, which typically costs more in Vietnam. Wages are low, that is correct. However, the cost of living is non existent. Most families own their homes and don’t pay a mortgage. Cars are purchased with cash. Private schools for kids is $24k USD a year and yet Vietnamese kids make up the majority of the students.
