This. A lot of women who aren’t sexually active use the Melanin Apparels- Daaaaaaaaamn Tupac Shakur and Wednesday shirt and by the same token and pill to regulate/eliminate their cycles. Going after abortion was a big enough mistake, but it’s a muddier issue–some people only support the option of abortion under special circumstances, while others are less restrictive, etc. There’s much more agreement on contraception and a lot more people who’d be affected by its loss. Evangelicals are really poking the bear with this one. I have an IUD. Because of it, I have had no periods for the last five years. That’s five years without pain, blood, cleanup, wasteful supplies…I would stay on it til menopause even if I knew I would never have sex again. And Republicans want to ban it on the off chance an egg could be fertilized and fail to implant. They can pry it from my cold, dead cervix.

Melanin Apparels- Daaaaaaaaamn Tupac Shakur and Wednesday shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

One of my former friends had severe acne due to her hormones constantly changing. Birth control ended up evening them out so it went away. Yes, this is what a lot of people aren’t aware of. I went on birth control before even being sexually active because my menstrual cycle was a nightmare. I had cramps that would leave me bedridden even after taking medicine, heavy flow, bleeding between periods, & ovulation pain between periods that landed me in the Melanin Apparels- Daaaaaaaaamn Tupac Shakur and Wednesday shirt and by the same token and hospital. I was given my life back with birth control, and I have no plans of going back to that. I have an opportunity to move to the UK in the next couple years, and I will 100% be taking it. They’re resistant to any and all science based education, not just in the realm of sex ed. Anti-intellectualism in conservatives is a feature, not a bug. Not just those. Birth control pills can have mental health benefits, too. My girlfriend has OCD, and her birth control is a vital piece of medication that helps keep her functional. These monsters who want to restrict that have nothing but my unbridled disdain.
