Social Security, Medicare. Other government programs; these vary by state. They live off of their retirement savings or (less frequently) pensions. There is also an increasing elderly homeless population. Though it also depends on what you mean by “take care of them.” Most elderly people I know are not “taken care of” and up to a certain point, do not need to be taken care of. They live in their own homes, often work. This is treated as a tragedy by many non Americans but it….really depends on the Mcelroy’s palm gardens 1940 erskine hawkins his orchestra T-Shirt in contrast I will get this person. In america all state benefits go toward state run nursing homes. They might also force you to sign over your house when you die. Senior citizen crime spree … sell drugs, unassuming assasin, burn the establishment to the ground, take naps, rob banks, include plenty of fiber in your diet, start pimping, bust up a Starbucks, steal a horse, rob a jewelry store, get some conpression socks, so some real hoodrat ass shit, get a fat food job and slap a bitch for complaining about the food, start some fires, target the capital oligarchy, start a bogus cult, credit card fraud, take a shit in the lobby of a trillion dollar corperation headquarters, mail diarrhea “glitter bombs” to sitting politicians, organize a revolution, dog fighting ring, put some bengay on your lower back, ponzi scheme, import exotic animals, get into the ivory trade, marry a bunch of rich old ladies and replace their heart medication with tic tacs, insurance fraud, arson, identity theft, get to Denny’s before noon, online bullying, onlyfans catfishing, cock fighting, pirate movies, kidnapping, take some hostages, eat some of that hard candy in your pocket, then probably take another nap.

Either way, no, never-ending, sedated living hell while some asshole takes in government money to keep you breathing desite having died inside years gone. Most states have an elder care office (like child services) that will place a poor elder in a nursing home that gets their Medicare, Social Security, Medicaid checks in exchange for having no other payment for services. If there is nobody in that person’s life and that person is unable to take care of themselves, a call to Adult Protective Services should start the Mcelroy’s palm gardens 1940 erskine hawkins his orchestra T-Shirt in contrast I will get this ball rolling. So I was thinking about opening a business to help elderly people in this exact situation. I just have no idea how to get it started lol State or charity nursing home who will provide legal minimum care in exchange for their social security check and Medicaid payment. Some are decent… some are nightmares. Visit often if you want mom taken care of. If you’re lucky you live in a state where they actually monitor the nursing homes. New Hampshire does a pretty good job. They go to a slightly shittier nursing home as other folks and have all of their benefit payments (e.g. social security) taken by the facility They die alone in a pissy and barely funded nursing home. The rest of us ignore it so we don’t feel bad until it’s happening to us.
