I understand that struggle. I’m the McDonald’s symbol with grinch santa hat christmas shirt Apart from…,I will love this oldest and none of my siblings have kids yet, but I’ve hit the age where my lack of children has become A Thing. And it’s like the whole family has lost interest in me. This is no great loss, but it still hurts. I remember sitting there at lunch after I got my masters degree realizing they’d all be a lot more excited for me if I told them I was pregnant. I live on the way to my sisters house who has my niece. My mother will visit my sister and niece without telling me, then send me a message how she’s sorry she didn’t have time to stop to see me on the way home. It’s a nice little slap in the face, I will never be as important as my sister because she has a kid, I just accept it at this point. They do bring a special excitement to every family event. My daughter couldn’t sleep tonight because she was so excited for her grandfathers birthday party tomorrow

Christmas gains it magic back with kids. It’s soooo much fun. This past Christmas Eve my wife and I stayed up watching It’s a wonderful life while I assembled my 2 year olds doll house from Santa. Got to the McDonald’s symbol with grinch santa hat christmas shirt Apart from…,I will love this end of the movie and balled my eyes out. Can confirm that I got to feel that magic again. I like the misspelling of bawled as “balled” cuz whenever I see it I imagine the person was hopelessly compelled to play basketball Wow I hadn’t really thought about this but it’s very true. Christmas from the time I turned ~20 up until recently has been relatively mundane. I enjoyed seeing my family and appreciated the gifts but it wasn’t just “magical.” Conversely the last 3 christmases with our kids have been some of the best I can remember. This was one of my favorite things. I loved playing Santa Claus for the kids. No presents under the tree until Christmas morning. They’d just, magically, be there.
