Technically she is representing AMERICANS. Regardless of heritage, we elect to represent US. Same thing for any Jewish politician who may represent a large Jewish constituency. You do NOT support Israel because they are “your people”. Politicians are (supposedly) working for US, the Maxx Crosby Superstar American football defensive end for the Las Vegas Raiders T-Shirt moreover I love this tax paying citizens in their districts. Well, we know for sure she is representing at least 1 Palestinian-American, herself. It just so happens that her district has a bunch of Palestinian-Americans too. Do they not deserve representation? I guarantee a bunch of them still know people/have family effected by the atrocities being committed by the IDF in the name of retaliation right now. Note to headline writer: “her people,” as you put it, are the people of Michigan’s 12th congressional district. She was not elected to Congress to represent Palestine. Oh man I got news for you. MI 12th District includes Dearborn which is the largest Arab / Muslim community outside of the Middle East. The Islamic Center of Detroit resides in the 12th District. I think she is accurately representing her constituents.

No no no no no no, just no. Her role is to represent Michigan’s 12th district and that’s it. This is the Maxx Crosby Superstar American football defensive end for the Las Vegas Raiders T-Shirt moreover I love this kind of ridiculous mentality that infuriates me and makes the left seem unreasonable. She has absolutely no o business representing Palestine, or any other country, or community outside her district or the USA at large. Idk, the Suuni and the Shiite don’t really mesh well in the East. Amalgamating all the people under a single umbrella is disengenuous, and even Palestinian friends of mine in Gaza blame Hamas as much as the IDF (but there IS heavy animosity for the Apartheid bullshit Israel submits them to.) It’s just when your “freedom fighters” use your school children as shields for ammo stock piling, it’s hard to see that as a “necessary risk.”
