Do a sport like coed volleyball, or maybe try an endurance sport like cycling. Far more engaging and rewarding. Stop working out and find an active hobby that you enjoy. The gym isnt for everyone, no matter what the koolaid drinkers will tell you, its perfectly fine to not like the gym. Join a Jiujitsu school, find a rec volleyball league, take up kayaking. Find something that you connected with, do until your bored and then find something else. All of my exercise is focused around triathlon training, so for me it’s just a drive to get better. It’s like a video game where you want to beat your high score. With all of the electronics now, it’s highly “gamified,” so you see your swim/bike/run pace improve with training, which is motivating. Plus, there’s the enjoyment of the competition itself and a drive to be a top competitor. I don’t mind workout in a gym setting. Actually a great stress release to put on some music and do the workout. It’s getting myself there and starting that is hard for me, because I much rather go home and watch TV.

I’ve been working out for a couple of years or a bit more, 1 year with coach and diet. Unpleasant? Yes. Worth it? Hell yeah.
