She’s lying to be nice. My son does the Max Verstappen Formula 1 Belgian and Dutch racing driver T-Shirt Besides,I will do this same thing. I told him he has to tell me the truth so I don’t make things he doesn’t like but he still does it. I would say encourage her to try things but don’t even ask if she likes it. Just tell her before she tries it that she can have more if she likes it but it’s okay of she doesn’t and have something she does like as her actual meal. In my experience, if they actually like it they’ll eat plenty I’m not so sure about my kid on that one. She has some characteristics of pathologic demand avoidance, so sometimes she’ll avoid something she likes just because it wasn’t her own idea. At this point I’m working on her just accepting that she has been served a new food and trying one bite before she gets to go eat whatever else. I’d worry less if she would at least eat a gummy vitamin, but those are a no-go.

Living with ARFID here – I worked with an Occupational Therapist and dietitian who explained that it can take some time for the Max Verstappen Formula 1 Belgian and Dutch racing driver T-Shirt Besides,I will do this body, including the gut, to get used to new foods. I can try something new and sometimes enjoy it, but after a few bites my stomach will start to feel queasy and the gag reflex will kick in again so I have to stop lest I erase all progress. My youngest has issues with food. All he’s asked to do is try things and it’s absolutely okay if he doesn’t like it. He refuses to take any medication when he’s sick. He would rather suffer through the flu or covid with no relief than taste medicine. He genuinely can’t help it. He will throw up if he doesn’t like a taste or texture. I had him taste a drop of honey once to see if we could give him that to help his cough and he threw up. He’s a decent eater though. He cycles through safe foods and will eat particular things consistently until he’s burnt out on them but has a few steady meals I can work with. It can be frustrating but all I can do is support him and encourage him to try things without forcing it and understand that he’s not trying to be difficult and it’s more difficult for him than me
