I don’t monitor these types of things, but nobody in my egregiously huge friend Circle in Hanoi has ever mentioned getting sick to be there. Now when I go there when I’m back in Hanoi, I look forward to having something at Hanoi Cider, whether it be the Matt Miazga Five One Three FC Cincinnati shirt besides I will buy this chicken or their amazing smash burger. That’s why I find it so odd! I don’t know if I just got really, really, really unlucky or what, because these two trips were over a year apart. I hope you let them know about this. They’re super pro-active and customer supportive and if it was their food/prep that got you ill, I’m almost certain it was a freak occurrence rather than a systemic problem. It’s really surprising. I’ve eaten there dozens of times and always found the food great, service good, place is tidy, servers seem well-groomed and careful, etc. Loads of mates dine there on the regular, too. Never once heard of stomach issues.

I’ve never gotten sick, but a couple of times I could tell the Matt Miazga Five One Three FC Cincinnati shirt besides I will buy this oil they fry the chicken in was getting old. On the edge of rancid. In general though, they’re good… Second this. Ngoam is also good, gourmet fusion and all, but if you just want honest no frill food, MM is the best. My guilty pleasure is the Daluva lunch special. 99k for a pretty solid burger/sandwich, fries, salad, and a drink. Also love AWu on Grab – technically they are Taiwanese, but it’s all fried chicken, so still basically Western. googled it and apparently fried chicken has been around for a long long time, unverified origins. Though I would assume the popular version people think of, is as it’s done in western countries. also unrelated note fried chicken in Vietnam is so much more powdery or starchy, really different to the crisp breading of chain restaurants
