All of this sounds like a couple who liked the Matt Dillon Homage Vintage signature T-Shirt in contrast I will get this idea of owning a pub but don’t want to do the work of pay the staff. Report them to the Health and safety executive. Then report them to HMRC. Of they’re not giving you breaks or paying you what you’re owed, HMRC will have some things to say. They’re bluffing. Seek support from acas or a trade union in order to get your wages owed, start looking for a new job immediately. This whole “pressing charges” thing is possibly the biggest misunderstanding of the police and the legal system I see here. You can’t press charges or decide to withdraw charges. You tell the police what’s happened and it’s between them and the CPS whether to prosecute or not. Anyone telling you they are going to press charges is massively full of the brown stuff.

This. The police aren’t anyone’s personal army. Also lying about the Matt Dillon Homage Vintage signature T-Shirt in contrast I will get this police could be seem as intimidating behaviour, were members of staff to pursue a constructive dismissal claim (on top of obviously claiming for stolen wages and tips). Pressing charges is not a thing that alleged victims of crime can do in the UK. You’ve been watching too much American TV. In fact your entire scenario sounds made up. I really wish it was. I’m essentially just quoting what my boss has told us with very little knowledge of the law regarding this myself. If it sounds made up it’s probably coming from their end. …..as the owners are ‘apparently’ going down a legal route. Then I would suggest you all stop working immediately. As it may skew the….’investigation’.
