You don’t have to go very far back in history to when a family of 7 or 8 could be supported on a single income and own their own home. I believe we can do it again. Families aren’t even that big anymore. It’s possible and it starts with taxing the Matchbox 20 American rock band Exile On Mainstream T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this rich and holding people in charge accountable. I had a conversation the other day at work on prejudice and the guy kept repeating, “I don’t need a history lesson”. I was like, nah bitch, I think you do because you’re ignorant as fuck. A lot of the problems we have currently have been problems for a while. We just never really addressed them and now they’re out of control. I was just about to quote the same thing and am overjoyed someone beat me to it. The brainwashing is real…minimum wage was ABSOLUTELY meant to be the bare minimum needed in order to make a living. I want a bunch of rates to be calculated and published yearly as part of the minimum wage law. Literal minimum wage from the legislation, poverty wage, living wage, median wage, middle class wage, upper class wage, millionaire wage, billionaire wage. Let people behold the numbers every year and leave no doubt that 99% of us are getting fucked over. Even better if they have tiers for different COL factors, like expensive metro areas. 1950 – Median home price is $7,354.00 and minimum wage is $0.75…almost 5 years of full time pay. 10-15 year mortgage required to buy it now. 1970 – Median home price is $23,000 and minimum wage is $1.45…almost 8 years of full time pay. 15-20 year mortgage required to buy it now.

2023 – Median home price is $262,000 and minimum wage is $7.25…over 17 years of full time pay. Payments on a 30 year mortgage are over 100% of your paycheck. I think there’s a push for 40 year mortgages going on to “help” with this. I’d never get a mortgage that long that’s just ludicrous but that’s what I think banks are trying to work towards instead of letting prices come down. It absolutely was meant for buying a house and raising a family. You don’t have to drum up and compare numbers to find that out. At the Matchbox 20 American rock band Exile On Mainstream T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this time it came about it was always evident that the minimum wage was for a decent living. A country like the United States is supposed to be exceptional enough to pay all of it’s workers a decent wage, not subsistence living. As FDR said (paraphrasing) a business that cannot pay it’s workers enough of a wage to live decently, has failed as a business and does not deserve to exist. I hate the energy in that “minimum isn’t supposed to…” comment. It’s so “well obviously” about something that’s an actual fuckin problem, but not the problem they’re thinking of.

1. Length is measured from the highest point on the collar down to the bottom hem. 2. Width is measured across the body of the shirt under the armpits, one way. 3. Sleeves are measured from center back to hem.
