Too bad everything we know about advertising shows that your opinion is an extreme minority. Companies wouldn’t pay for advertising if it didn’t work. Consumers do have the Marcus Stroman Signature American professional baseball pitcher Chicago C Arc T-Shirt in other words I will buy this ability to intentionally shift preferences away from undesirable marketing, its just a slow and decentralized process that’s disadvantaged against the fabulously wealthy and systematically researched ad-industry. Boycotting obnoxious ads is sort of a natural response, but the rise of astroturfing and product placement in online spaces has been a pretty deliberate response. I wish there was more regulation in advertisement, since it’s more worthwhile to market a shit product than to invest in developing a quality one and having its value spread through word of mouth. However, if ads were banned then I have no doubt companies would innovate a way to hijack word of mouth as a means to peddle garbage products instead. Have you ever once seen a popup and suddenly thought, yes, I need this good or service, glad they covered up these search search results so I can drop what I’m doing and read this sales pitch. Better click on it!

My mom loves to click on the Marcus Stroman Signature American professional baseball pitcher Chicago C Arc T-Shirt in other words I will buy this (insert city name) residents need to know about this new traffic law ones and then says it’s all of our faults that her computer has viruses My mom: “Why don’t you give me the Administrator’s Password so I can update the computer when you aren’t around?” Me: Has war flashbacks of having to constantly remove toolbars, malware, and viruses from her computer a decade ago before I set up the Administrator account. Back in the day I would constantly have to reinstall Windows on my FIL’s computer as he would delete system files all the time and claim he wasn’t mucking around. Dude, the shit my husband’s grandma has gotten into on her computer is amazing. I don’t even understand how she finds herself down the rabbit holes she does. She’s the old lady who writes a whole ass email in the subject line and then sends it to herself instead of the other person, and had her computer locked down by ransomware. She couldn’t remember the password to her email, so she somehow managed to create 30 something new email accounts. Most old people don’t want to learn. A family friend wanted me to come and fix her phone because “telegram and facebook disappeared”. I declined because when I have tried to explain how to reinstall apps, she basically ignores everything I say. It’s like her brain goes blank and no information gets in. Oh man, my mom is basically like this. She needs to use her laptop for work but is technologically illiterate and refuses to learn. For example she refuses to use the taskbar to maximize and minimize and instead constantly just closes and opens documents and folders. Also same situation as yours when it comes to her phone.
