Thank you for posting this. There’s so many “look at those rolls I’ve made” posts. It’s very misleading and has sometimes added worry for me. Yes, genetics plays a huge role. You’ll not often see a significant change in percentage if one weans to formula if there was no supply issue with nursing. Formula and breastmilk are the same/very similar kcal per ounce. As long as your baby is healthy and following their curve it’s all good! My daughter has always been so petite and I was constantly worried I was starving her. (There was no chance I ever was… just overly worried) because I thought I was supposed to have a chunky, rolly polly babe. Now I have my son who is indeed a chunk. Definitely this. My son was (and still is) lean as hell. My daughter was really chubby (but leaned out later). Both got exclusively BM. Mine would never take formula. I tried to get her to drink at least a little bit a day but she was all boob, still is.
