This ex of yours was using weaponized incompetence, he doesn’t want to cook, he doesn’t want to do any chores, he wants you to handle the physical and mental load of the household and screwing up a simple recipe was his way of ensuring you never asked him that again. You did the right thing dumping him. So what if you shamed him? He SHOULD be ashamed! This is like an adult unable to go to the store and buy groceries, or can’t take a pet to the vet, or can’t book a hotel. Its easy enough for anyone to do and being unable to do it is a huge red flag.
