She found out later the the counselor told her coworker and husband that they weren’t compatible and suggested they get a divorce. Out of curiosity, what did the counsellor do to help save your marriage? What needed fixing that they helped with? Basically she taught us how to communicate when things are bothering us, and not to hold things in till you are feeling bitter about it. My wife and I both come from broken homes, and neither of us knew what a healthy marriage looked like. Our marriage counselor was very much into tough love and would be very blunt about what we both needed to do to save our marriage. We saw the counselor on year 11 of our marriage, and we just celebrated our 29th anniversary last month. We still talk about how the counseling saved us.
