Ofc it’s possible whether your loved ones are devout or not. It’s not only “devout” people who enter a restful and merciful afterlife after a lifetime in a hard world of pain and struggle. Geez. Also, kind of a topic shift, from “hm the Lower 33 Merion shirt also I will do this idea of a pointless afterlife is scary” to “well what about all these specific questions about your specific belief system that I imply is bad?” The biblical version of heaven has some pretty strict entry requirements the overwhelming majority of people will fail. Nearly all, really. There’s a whole book outlining this kind of thing and what happens if you don’t listen to it. The entry requirements are almost impossible to understand. Occasionally they’re described in confusing metaphor. There are many interpretations of who will be present. Some interpretations are that it is strict. Again, another is that most if not all people enter a restful and merciful afterlife, after a lifetime of hard, struggle and pain! See above! Just like there are several possible interpretations of what the afterlife is in the Bible. And I mentioned one. And again, this is kind of a big topic shift from the original “an empty afterlife sounds kind of boring“ to which I responded “here’s a different take on the afterlife!“

If all you’ve been exposed to is one strict interpretation of the Lower 33 Merion shirt also I will do this Bible with one strict, clear, supposed list of gate keeping rules on who gets into heaven and who doesn’t, I really encourage you to branch out and learn something about the different Christian faith traditions, or different Biblical readings, or maybe meet some people who have a different, more complex, and maybe thoughtful understanding of faith Actually, they said that they’d eat until it was no longer steep enough for the boulder to roll down. Therefore, he could roll it up and get the reward he was promised- being able to leave the underworld. Now, if he leaves and is immortal, after a while, yeah, your original comment would happen. If he wasn’t, I would imagine that a random cart would just “happen” to run him over pretty soon after he managed to get out.
