Perhaps 20 or 30 years ago but not today. It is far more common for children to stay until finishing grad school, college and have a job/afford a home. The parents never really cared, and put you out the Love of my life Michele Morrone he is the best signature shirt but in fact I love this moment they’re not legally obliged to provide to you anymore and at old age will complain at you for “not being there for them when they took care of you the whole life” There’s intense social pressure to start living that instagram life as soon as you’re an adult. Make money, drive an expensive car, go clubbing, active sex life, travel the world. None of those things allow for Mom and Dad’s basement, just their credit card. Ill be dammed if I don’t look after my kids as long as I can. What do I ask of them? Have kids, do the same for them, and look after me in my old age. That is the cycle, not this deplorable tradition of kicking 18 year old children out of home. Was not allowed to go to 6th form and told to get a job to teach me independence, mum would get the Love of my life Michele Morrone he is the best signature shirt but in fact I love this local papers and circle jobs and force me to apply. On one hand I wanted to be out of that environment and free and on the other I was ill equipped and terrified. Soon after getting a job she got the local papers again and forced me to phone the places to rent. I was 17 when I moved out. Unsurprisingly ill equipped for life and got into debt giving my first bf at 19 a lot of money who “needed it” apparently. 🫠 Didn’t get any real stability until I was in my 30s. Now im stubbornly independent and keep my distance from family.
