Why is it even necessary to refer to someone’s ethnicity? Aren’t they just a person? Ya don’t see ppl going around treating their black labs worse than their golden retrievers It’s dehumanising and minimising. Putting every black person in the same group, labelling them “the blacks” and then only interact with your taught perception of “black”. And yeah, “Asian” is fucked up too because I’m sure, for example, that there are many Asian countries and people who aren’t fond of the Japanese

“Blacks” sounds dehumanizing and also “Black” is not a place like Asia. There is some history behind it I’m sure, but “blacks” just doesn’t sit right with people and it sounds like your instincts are letting you know that so listen to them. “Black people” is fine. Black isn’t a place with a cultural background. If ur removing their cultural identity and expecting to be respected for that then you are wrong.
