It usually takes someone who has a cigarette smoking lifestyle to accumulate that kind of film. You can’t see the film. It doesn’t come up with water. It usually takes an alcohol based solvent to get up and it leaves a brownish yellow stain on the towel you use. Since it was deposited by smoke it also penetrates the fabric, cushion material, and carpet fibers.
