Ironically enough, SUNY and those akin to it use university in the Los Angeles Dodgers Fernandomania Weekend Dodger Stadium 34 Shirt it is in the first place but acronym (State University of New York), but no one on my campus has ever called it a university, just a college. Colleges in the US usually refers to what we really only call uni/university in Canada, which are institutions that offer bachelors, masters or PHDs. What we call colleges in Canada are more equivalent to what Americans call “community colleges”, *Edit* but some colleges have really good programs for certain specialties that can be as hard to get into as university programs. Question for Americans : A lot of Canadian unis will do special joint programs with colleges where get admitted to the specific university program and do something like 2 years at the uni and 2 years at the college; is that a thing in the US? so programs that have a curriculum that includes taking classes at College and Community college?
