Like, these people have an entirely different conception of what their job actually is, they may as well be on a different planet. We have the Logo enola holmes detective agency est 1885 pink shirt besides I will buy this technology for more direct democracy these days. Referendums have their issues too, yet I don’t think they’re inherently more wrought with pitfalls than the status quo of our current government. They are representing their constituents and that’s the problem. Joe Manchin’s constituents in West Virginia think he’s doing an awesome job. Yep…not sure I am completely down with the direct democracy aspect but completely agree that Congress doesn’t do their job. If we did our jobs with the same efficiency and effectiveness that Congress does I can’t imagine we would be employed for very long…yet we keep re-electing the same people for years. Yet somehow the the other branches of government end up holding the bag when anything goes sideways. It is easy to blame racist and fascists for Trump but if Congress did their jobs he might never have happened. When people get fed up with the B.S. they are willing to try anything different. Term limits anybody?

Its operation contradicts the fundamental maxim of republican government, which requires that the sense of the majority should prevail. Sophistry may reply, that sovereigns are equal, and that a majority of the votes of the States will be a majority of confederated America. But this kind of logical legerdemain will never counteract the plain suggestions of justice and common-sense. It may happen that this majority of States is a small minority of the people of America; and two thirds of the people of America could not long be persuaded, upon the credit of artificial distinctions and syllogistic subtleties, to submit their interests to the management and disposal of one third.
