I think part of accepting death comes with age. Like when you’re still relatively young (like before 50 as in still enough time to do a lot of things) you don’t usually want to die. If you have kids they’ll be in their 20s and 30s and you still want to watch them grow up. Basically you still have a lot to do with your life. But once you’re retired and have more time to do what you want you become more satisfied with life. You don’t see a lot of old people who don’t want to die mainly because they know it’s soon. I think you’re fear is less of the Little Slackers shirt and I will buy this fear of dying and more the fear of leaving everyone you know and love behind. For that the best thing you can do is spend everyday doing your very best for your family. That way you’ll leave them with only good memories.

Yes. I don’t fear dying, I fear pain and suffering that can’t be treated leading up to my demise. I also don’t fear the Little Slackers shirt and I will buy this afterlife since I am indifferent to it’s existence so it doesn’t provoke any anxiety in me. I think acceptance is a very important part of getting over the fear. For me, it started with some light philosophical thought about what the fuck I was doing or where I was before conception. I didn’t exist for countless untold time before birth, and you don’t see me complaining. Funny enough, people write a ton of articles about firsthand experiences of dying and coming back. Most of them say its really not that bad. This is assuming it’s a natural death and not some freak accident. I feel a sense of comfort in the thought that I’ll see her again. Doesn’t really matter if there is an afterlife, I feel peace.
