Thankfully he eventually showed it to my dad, who sensibly called the Lilo and Stitch 626 Stitch Day It’s OK To Be Weird T-Shirt in addition I really love this police, who in turn called the bomb squad. Safely detonated on the beach to a plume of smoke & sand, along with a crest fallen pubescent teen who thought he might be allowed to keep it. One of my flatmates loves to rescue decent stuff other people throw away. She particularly loves suitcases and is committed to cleaning them up and donating them if they’re usable. So a while ago she finds a perfectly good suitcase in the bin area of our building and goes to bring it in. To her surprise, it’s really heavy. She thought it was weird and because it was dark and rainy at the time she wasn’t keen to investigate anymore. So the next day she goes back and opens it up, and whatever is in it is wrapped in loads of newspaper. She gets interrupted so leaves it be and decides to come back later.

As luck would have it, the week after she finds this clock, antique roadshow are filming down the road from us. She takes the clock along and has it valued, it’s worth £1.5k. I stopped doing morning shifts after that day.
