I love this soundtrack. Discombobulate is the Lights Xmas Holiday Merry And Bright Christmas T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this primary theme but Panic, Shear Bloody Panic is good – almost like a dance piece. Yes! This was the first movie soundtrack I ever bought. I would play it while teaching myself to play chess. I’m still very bad at chess but the music always made me feel smart. Yet some of the pieces are nowhere to be found on the soundtrack! I’ve looked for the song during the fight with Dredger and the other guys for years. A “broken” or piano that is not tuned sounds like a piano you’d hear in western movie’s saloon scene. There wasn’t a lot of piano tuners back then roaming the frontier tuning bar pianos. That’s where that distinctive sound comes from. My own upright piano tends to go out if tune with changes in humidity & temperature, which is why it has an aftermarket dehumidifier built into it. We run this intermittently when we sense the tune wandering. I’m intrigued about the fact that there was someone actually travelling around the frontier selling pianos though – so clearly a business savy guy. BUT….never thought about offering tuning services as well – I mean – they would have never known if it was tuned… The score to Westworld did this too and the piano had slight discordant harmonics and it really sold the old west feel to the music. Even now, piano tuner‘s are kind of an expensive service. For your average piano player, that is. But pianos in general are expensive. So I guess it fits.

The RDJ Sherlock movies are so perfect, and it entirely hinges on the way Jude Law plays Watson. You can see him try his HARDEST to be an utter gentleman, refined, proper, spirit of the century, but the second RDJ steps into view he let’s his vices go wild inside of him. It’s such a great portrayal of a different side of addiction, the recovered but struggling to maintain, compared to Sherlock’s full embrace of their chaos.
