That whole business model is based on people signing up, not going, and putting off canceling due to a combination of not wanting to admit failure and the Let’s Pretend We’re Merbannies Sparky Jr. Strawberry And Willow T-Shirt What’s more,I will buy this whole process being a pain in the ass. If everyone with a gym membership went just twice a week they’d have a real problem on their hands. I made one donation to one of our food pantries 2years ago. I’m still getting mail from them asking for more donations. The same with ASPCA, Forbes, and so on. And DirectTV. Cancelled that subscription about 5 years ago. I moved to a different state and, guess what, the letters asking me to come back or talking about discounts has followed me to every single apartment I’ve moved to. I really really hate it. Out of all the mail I get a month, <0.5% is actually stuff I need. All that wasted resources just in the hopes that even one person will take them up on their offer.

I wonder how much money they would lose if they put stickers on the glass saying ‘This is a rigged game of chance, there is little-to-no skill needed to win’. Unless you’re in Japan. They pretty much have multi-story buildings with thousands of claw machines that are pretty skill based and not as scammy. You can actually ask for help too and workers will reposition the prize so you can get it within 1-2 tries if you don’t screw it up. Since they have strict gambling laws their claw machines are pretty much how they substitute casinos. It’s why there is a lot of gatcha stuff.
