I like just waking up, taking care of the Let me forever be known as the woman that does whatever classic shirt and I love this things I need to do to survive (work, eat, clean sometimes) and then just doing whatever the hell I want. I don’t feel functional enough to take care of another human. If my first statement doesn’t make that clear. I’m ADHD as fuck, grew up with psychologically abusive parents, struggle maintaining healthy relationships. Like, how the fuck am I supposed to take another human and make them a fully functional, happy, stable and successful adult… if day to day, I don’t feel that. I’m not donating another life to die on a battlefield in a war that powerful and corrupt individuals halfway around the world are forcing on the rest of us. I’m gonna answer this in a roundabout way. I typically dont have any interest in kids at all, but I have recently been watching SpyXFamily (which features a really cute, if not unorthodox family set up) and it really makes me want to have a kid. Somehow, this has convinced me that having a kid is totally a bad idea. I guess since the only time i think about having a kid at all is when I watch a ridiculous, totally unrealistic show with a manufactured cuteness means that I am probably idealizing the idea and am not prepared.

I think overpopulation is one of the Let me forever be known as the woman that does whatever classic shirt and I love this biggest problems we face as a species. I am concerned about the forthcoming total ecological collapse I see around me everywhere. If I abstain from having a child, that is almost the same as drastically reducing my carbon footprint, waste, energy consumption, etc. Seems like the right thing to do. Why would I want to spawn another sentient human in such a flawed world is the reason. They don’t get the choice to be born they just are. If I did have kids it would be my responsibility they go through life relatively comfortably since I played a part in bringing them in without their conscious choice. The easy answer is kids, but the real answer for me is seeing their parents. I don’t hate children, but I hate how so many people suddenly become highly transactional and focused on their own self-interest (via their offspring) after they have a kid. It just kind of underlines all the worst things in society for me, and how people are usually just motivated by self-interest to the expense and detriment of others. They’re a means of being selfish by extension. Which isn’t to say kids aren’t often lovely and cute, to the point that I can see fatherhood being very rewarding, but I generally see parenting as an almost masturbatory, self-centred philosophy and an exercise in vanity. The fact that motherhood is generally considered the antithesis to destructive maleness also irks me. It’s often a selfish, impulsive thing to do, and women fuck up the world every bit as much as the men they give birth to do. Parenting is easy to do shoddily and lazily under the guise of being proactive and creative.
