All his books have a great amount of understanding of human nature, nature, and science but some add a lot more. Thud and Night watch were also pretty dark in my opinion. It’s such a fantastic book despite its dark subject matter. And it feels like such a perfect depiction of Vimes’ arc. He comes from oppression and gets to grow up and become a hero for the oppressed. Yeah it baffles me people can’t see the anger coming through. Maybe because I’m angry too I see it. I dunno. Maybe it’s not even really there but cos I’m angry.. I see it everywhere lol. But the idea it’s all just jolly is wild to me.
