What if I told you “firing up the Les vampires (1915) les vampires vintage french horror silent film poster louis feuillade shirt But I will love this left” was a mostly futile effort for show until that same left controls the government in enough states to make a difference. This is for them to further divide the country so they can ratfuck the elections and call a constitutional convention. If the GOP called a constitutional convention, imagine the calamity. Not really. The dems have no incentive for a stalemate since they will lose seats, not gain from that. Their voters are far more fickle anyway. The only way to get this further away from the election was to leak it earlier and hope the outrage died off a little. You have to know the historical operation and reputation the court has earned over the years to understand why this benefits republicans. Now, Roberts will likely be much less on board with this then say a partial overturn (either decrease viability or removing undue burden). This will force the conservatives to either water down their decision or lose it. Now Roberts specifically is very pragmatic about the court, his opinion is likely the least steadfast of the group (though I have some questions about Kavenaugh). He may see a full overturn as detrimental to the history and institution of the court. If that were the case they needed some way to lock him in. Well with the draft report leaked, this was what they wanted. Because now, if Roberts were to write and propose another opinion and rule against the conservative one, it would seem like he switched due to public pressure (thus being detrimental to the courts reputation). Thus they lock in the conservative opinion, and no longer have to worry about any of the justices changing their opinions.

Before the Les vampires (1915) les vampires vintage french horror silent film poster louis feuillade shirt But I will love this GOP all started to claim it’s the leaker who is the real problem rather than the fucked up decision, I thought this was a way for them to kind of simultaneously feel it out and allow all the rage to pass ahead of actually doing it. They understand that the rage would be replaced by something new. However, this isn’t like a Trump did or said some fucked up shit and people get distracted by the latest thing he said or did. While Trumps actions and words did affect people’s daily lives it’s not to the extent and magnitude that this would affect them. This is not quite on the same level but in the same vein as if they had said older decisions that regulated school segregation were no longer valid.
