I sometimes will stay in the left if im going faster than the people in the right. Im not going to whip back over to the right and then back to the left so someone riding my ass can tailgate the car in front of me. But I realize my five over is nothing, and some people want to break the law properly. If there is no heavy traffic it’s not an issue, however. If there is a car right in front of you then yeah, you’re not the one holding up the lane. But if it’s wide open, or there’s a lot of space you 100% should move over to the right to let others pass (only if there is space on the lane over to do so safely, obviously). You have no clue why someone is driving fast, they could driving someone having a medical emergency to the hospital for all you know. In the motorcycle safety foundation course they teach you that the left lane is the safest one to ride in because you only have people coming at you from one side, and you can escape to the shoulder if someone is about to merge into you because they can’t see you. For this reason, I ride in the left lane when on my moto, and don’t care if someone wants to go faster. They can go around.

So you force them to pass you on the right side? I understand you want to be safe, but you are causing numerous other people to commit an unsafe act. You would let a line of 10 cars pile up behind you rather then move over to let them pass and then re-enter the left lane?
