If you miscarried, you’d only claim that you had the Kyle McCord Syracuse Orange caricature shirt But I will love this embryo for as many days out of the year that you had the embryo. Fun fact: a child has to live with you for a certain number of days in order to count as a dependent. Time where that child lived separately from you because they had been kidnapped is counted as time where they lived with you. You can find this rule on the irs website. This is the answer. There’s absolutely no reason why existing property law can’t be used to make these folks whole Then Alabama must require all leftover embryos to be humanely implanted, like no putting your extra children in a pig uterus.. Republicans are simultaneously forcing women who don’t want babies to have them while making it impossible for women who do want babies to have them Because they have said over and over they are against women having choices related to their reproductive health. They aren’t going to see an issue with this. Those women who don’t want babies can just give them to the couples that do. Even Amy Coney Barrett was concerned there wasn’t enough of a supply of children for adoptive parents to adopt. Except any republicans who were doing IVF or trying to do it are going to be pretty pissed (and somehow surprised) about this.

That’s a common line of reasoning for pro-lifers. They want to force poor women to have babies so rich couples can adopt them. If that’s the Kyle McCord Syracuse Orange caricature shirt But I will love this way it’s going to be then the poor women should be allowed to sell their offspring for major $$. Exactly why I joined TST. I may live in a state where my vote doesn’t matter in these situations, but supporting an organization that has the ability to make sure those rights can’t be taken away is just as good. Because this creates many more unfit parents that are having even more kids, increasing poverty and dependence upon the state and upon capitalism. The same thing happened in the early 1900s; the uneducated immigrants all had families of 7+ despite working low pay, so the kids begin working early and are uneducated, repeating the cycle and exponentially widening the gap between them and the wealthy and educate.

Especially since you would have no way of knowing if those embryos, once implanted, would ever result in live birth. You can’t just sue “for damages”, that’s not a thing. You have to sue based on a a valid cause of action that entitles a party to recover damages. Wrongful death in this case is the Kyle McCord Syracuse Orange caricature shirt But I will love this cause of action that they’d claim occurred in a civil trial which, like other civil causes of action (negligence, assault, battery, etc.), could entitle someone to damages. The amount of damages would be far lower in that case. I have absolutely no problem with these couples taking the clinic for every single penny they can get, and it isn’t their responsibility to protect Alabama voters from the consequences of their own decision. The losses would still be significant. IVF is an extremely expensive process, and if the couple are too old to provide viable eggs, then they would have a good case to have additional penalties levied for the inability to replace what was destroyed.

What do you tell the Kyle McCord Syracuse Orange caricature shirt But I will love this family that had embryos made before one of them underwent chemo? And now there is no way to fix that. What about the female physician or CEO who saved eggs and embryos so she could commit herself to her career? And now that she wants to have her children, whoops someone turned off the power? I agree it is a slippery slope, but can we also agree that these aren’t simply a couple meaningless cells? These are irreplaceable and represent the potential for human life. Oh for sure my heart goes out to those couples 100% and I understand it can be devastating as I’m a parent myself. It’s weird knowing that your country is descending into a third world shithole and knowing there’s literally nothing you can do about it. Sorry, Brit here. Why do sensible people still live in this State? Seems like the sort of ultra religious hell hole that you’d just leave and never return. Serious question! That’s kind of the point of these laws. Make sure that anyone voting left is out so you’re guaranteed to have a red state during the next elections. It also breed misery and poverty which is always good if your business is based on exploiting vulnerable people.

About this Kyle McCord Syracuse Orange caricature shirt

“In a concurring opinion, the Kyle McCord Syracuse Orange caricature shirt But I will love this chief justice of the court writes, “human life cannot be wrongfully destroyed without incurring the wrath of a holy God, who views the destruction of His image as an affront to Himself.”” It’s like a fucking cartoon at this point. Even Margaret Atwood’s editor would be like “that’s a little too on the Christofascist nose, don’t ya think?” This is one of the scariest parts of this judgement. It opens so many doors. IANAL so this is my best understanding of law but future judgements are based on or supported by prior cases. So if there’s a case on the books that uses “God” or “Christianity” it could potentially be used in the future to support even more asinine suits. I don’t think it’s happened in Alabama yet, but in Texas, a woman was been charged because she was reported to police by a nurse when seeking care for a miscarriage in the hospital. In El Salvador, many women have been imprisoned for decades for having miscarriages. It’s not easily possible to tell if a miscarriage is induced or not, so yeah, when abortion is illegal, women can be imprisoned because their bodies expelled a pregnancy.
Its probably well known but IVF is a sin under Catholicism. Is this place very religious? If so it may be part of their plan. Looking it up, Alabama is only about 7% Catholic but overwhelmingly Protestant, with about half being Evangelical Protestants. It seems more like it’s an expansion from Evangelical Protestant opposition to abortion. Next up: Alabama man sentenced to death for 3,289,456 half counts of homicide after being caught with a filthy Flesh Light! I thought for sure the Kyle McCord Syracuse Orange caricature shirt But I will love this GOP (Gilead Only Party) would be coming for contraception next, but they are detouring to take out IVF first? If rational Americans don’t wake up and stop the bullshit, I have absolutely no fucking doubt that The Handmaid’s Tale will become a stark and literal reality. This ruling right here is something you would wholly expect from the book’s dystopian right-wing ruling society. I’m neither a judge nor a medical expert but I don’t think this is how the Daubert standard is supposed to work. Does this mean jacking off is mass murder? I mean, it’s literally millions of sperm which are the other half of this non sense Allegedly, an unnamed “careless hospital patient” knocked over containers with 3 different couples’ frozen embryos, ruining them. Now the patient is being charged with 3 counts of “wrongful death of a child.”
I’m just not sure if it’s a pro-life group bringing the Kyle McCord Syracuse Orange caricature shirt But I will love this suit to try to trigger a national abortion ban, or if it’s a pro-choice group trying to appeal it up to the SC to force them to say the person is not guilty of wrongful death of a child. You would think that labor and delivery departments shutting down throughout the state would give these politicians pause. Instead, they double down on the insanity. Hopefully these politicians and judges can be replaced by more progressive leaders but this is Alabama where ignorance is bliss and their uneducated voter base are brainwashed. So sad. Infertility and impotence are part of gods plan. If they wanted to be able to have children, they should have been purer. /s Whaaaaat, you’re saying a state run by fanatical theocratic fundamentalists is making a goddamn stupid decision? I’m shocked, shocked I say!
